Unfortunately a book that does nothing particularly well. A vast variety of topics poorly explained and developed, often with a mish-mash of unrelated sub-topic in the same category. Also introduces new material in the questions section – shouldnt questions. Also way overpriced, really… the only reason it survives is that admin types mandate this text for entry level college. Most students, especially adults who are non math types have a tough time following the text or sparce worked examples. Every few years they make "changes" such as chapter order, sections etc. which are just rearrangements and humbug to sell a "new" edition. I can find a Barrons $18 book to do the same job and email the mateiral much more clearly but since it is not a "university" text is it not approved. So fork over $200 and be disappointed.
I oreded a new copy of the book so that I would recieve an access code for my math lab which is a online application associated with this book and required for my class. I got a used version of the textbook, no access code for my math lab. I paid full price. Extremely dissatisfied.
This book is very easy to read and follow along with during the professor’s lesson plan. I would recommend it for sure!
